Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, Ashford, Kent
Founded by Sarah Jayne & Andy Crust 2018
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of United Kingdom is a free book gifting organisation devoted to inspiring a love of reading in the hearts of children everywhere. Each month, enrolled children receive a high quality, age-appropriate book in the post, free of charge. Children receive books from birth to age FIVE.
How It Works
Each month, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library mails a high quality, age-appropriate book to all registered children, addressed to them, at no cost to the child’s family. Countless parents have shared how excited their child is when their new book arrives each month. Many groups and individuals work hard behind the scenes to make that special moment possible for each child
What We Do
Through events in the UK over the past 8 years Sarah Jayne & Andy and now with The Country Superstars tour have been raising funds for areas in the UK raising more than £15,000.
Hawkhurst, Hastings, Rotherham and Cleethorpes to name a few.
Arranging events and raffles with the support of our fans, allowing the Imagination Library to enrol more children in the UK.
Now as proud champions of the Imagination Library, Ashford Kent DPIL was launched in November 2018 and is continuing to grow with the support of London director Helen Hastle and her team.
Sarah Jayne along with Andy, Wol Webster (drummer from CSE) and Gwendoline Webster - CSE Stage Manager visited Singleton preschool in Ashford and Sarah read to the children "as a Tribute to Dolly" with a guest appearance from Lucy Jayne Crust - age 8 reading a story to the children to show them her confidence when reading and encouraging the preschoolers to read.
